Undoubtedly, Covid-19 has upended our global society and forever changed how we live, work, interact, and access goods and services. Besides exposing the glaring frailty of our current infrastructures and the purported — yet inadequate — support of the most vulnerable among us, the pandemic has instigated overwhelming financial hardship for families and businesses. Globally, the crisis has exposed inequalities that sit right beneath the surface with urban areas, growing cities and informal settlement camps experiencing rapid transmission. In the US we know that frontline and essential workers, who are more likely to be BiPOC (Black, Indigenous, people of color)…


Like many people around the world, I am anxiously awaiting the verdict to the Derek Chauvin trial, which will be read at any moment. As I wait, I am reminded of an experience just a few weeks ago. I was relieved when I was able to schedule a Covid vaccination appointment. When the Uber driver arrived, I nodded to him and got in the car.
